Kathy,

Thank you for this post. The events lately have spurred many thoughts inside my head and much moer prayer time. I feel helpless not being able to physically do something, but I know I can be a prayer warrior. Thank you for this beautiful post!

Thanks for this, Kathy, and for the reminder that there are many battles that can be overcome by the power of prayer alone.

Dear Irene,

I thank you for your comments but I have decided not to publish your comment at this time.

I must say that I strongly disagree with your comments.

Has there ever been a generation that aborted 46 million babies annually? Has there ever been a generation of alcoholics and addicts? The divorce rate is nearly 50%. Genocide has become a common form in many parts of the world. Millions of people are starving unjustly. Terrorism ( especially nuclear) hangs over the world like a dark cloud.

I don't agree with your comment that focusing on a single class of sins is wrong. If abortion is prevalent then we should focus on ending it. There is also a distinction between mortal and venial sin. Taking another's life is a mortal sin; telling a lie is a serious sin but not necessisarly mortal. So sin is not always equal ( John 5;16-17).

Regarding natural disasters; we have major climate swings, oceans dying off, bird species dying off, bee and bat populations dwindling, a world food shortage.

Surely you can see that our world needs our many prayers! Yes, God will take care of things; but He depends on the faithfullness of His Church to carry out his work.

God Bless you!

Probably you know the Youtube video “May feelings”. Young students of Universities of Madrid say reasons pray the holy rosary. (in Spanish, with english subtitles)
See it: http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=YxjjyXhO9EA
It is one of the most watched videos on Youtube in May.

The Memorare

  • The Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, My Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer them. Amen.

Having trouble Conceiving?

Spiritual Adoption prayer of Archbishop Sheen

  • "Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of ( Baby's name) the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion."

Priests for Life end to Abortion prayer

  • Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life, And for the lives of all my brothers and sisters. I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion, Yet I rejoice that you have conquered death by the Resurrection of Your Son. I am ready to do my part in ending abortion. Today I commit myself Never to be silent, Never to be passive, Never to be forgetful of the unborn. I commit myself to be active in the pro-life movement, And never to stop defending life Until all my brothers and sisters are protected, And our nation once again becomes A nation with liberty and justice Not just for some, but for all, Through Christ our Lord. Amen! .
