HAPPY 72ND BIRTHDAY JOHN McCAIN AND WHAT A VP PICK!!!!!!!!

 

What a pick: Sarah Palin, a 44 year old female, wife and mother of 5 ( a baby just born in April with Down's Syndrome), a son currently serving in the military; to be deployed on September 11th to Iraq, and the current Governor of Alaska.

She is a staunch opposer of Abortion rights and a tough reformer in the political arena. She gave a fascinating VP acceptance speech today, and appears to be a mover and shaker for the Republican party; but more importantly she appears to be someone with a spirit of "serving" the American people.

We shall see in the next coming days and months. Let us pray for those that will stand up( especially for those in public office) for LIFE!!!!!!!!!

Our Lady of Knock, Pray for us!

 

Today is the feast day of Our Lady of Knock in Ireland. My family and I made a pilgrimage to Knock in March of 2007. I wrote an article about our experience that was first published in the "Thirteenth of the Month Club" by the Marians of the Immaculate Conception in Stockbridge, MA. FEAST DAY OF THE ASSUMPTION OF MARY

Happy Feast Day of the Assumption of Mary to visitors of the Daily Grotto.

This morning shortly before 7:00 a.m. my grandmother, Mildred age 100 years old passed away . My mother said that there was "peace and happiness" radiating from her face. I want to thank all of you that continually prayed for a happy death for Gram following her stroke last week.

Years ago, I gave my grandmother a miraculous medal to wear and she has been entrusted to the Blessed Virgin Mary ever since. Our Lady had protected my grandmother from many pitfalls( she had several serious falls, especially in the nursing home, but never broken a bone in all of her 100 years).

When it was time to put my grandmother in a nursing home at age 96; I prayed for the intercession of Our Lady to help me find a suitable place. As only a loving Mother would do, Mary assisted me in finding the right home for Gram. Our Lady even gave me signs of her presence. I find it to be a blessing that Gram passed on the Feast Day of the Assumption of Mary. It is also a holy day in the Serbian Orthodox Church ( Gram was Orthodox)  for it is the Dormition of the Theotikos or "Passing of Mary".

May you rest in peace Gram.

ANOTHER URGENT PRAYER REQUEST!!!!!!!!!!

Please keep my 100 year old Grandmother in your prayers. We think that Gram ( Mildred) had a major stroke yesterday. Today, she was listless, her mouth has drooped, and we could not rouse her from a deep sleep.

When she did wake up momentarily she was in a vegetative state. It was very sad to see her like this. We wonder if she nearing the end of her life. She has not been eating well and has been getting weaker.

Please keep Gram in your prayers for a happy death and so that she does not suffer but will go peacefully. Let us pray for God's will.

Dear Friends,

Please pray for Julie, a mom of six children who was rushed to the hospital last night. She was recovering at home from surgery, and now may have a blood clot in her lung.

Please pray for her healing and for conversion of her family.
