THE DAILY GROTTO

For Today...

Outside my Window...a cold, gloomy, rainy ( soon to be snowy)day. I am chilled to the bone, and will be turning on the furnace soon!

I am thinking...I do not want Obama to win the election!

From the learning rooms...Hannah has finished her homework.

I am thankful for...The girls are feeling better. Hubby is not out of the woods yet- Prayers please!

From the kitchen...Apple-Cinnamon muffins. Acorn Squash soup for dinner.

I am wearing...A Miraculous Medal!

I am reading...Laura Ingalls Wilder's The Long Winter ( I know I'm childish), and The Cry of Stone by Michael O'Brien. A fascinating book about the Canadian wilderness that transports me to another time and place. I have read over 300 pages so far and just started yesterday.

I am hoping...To bake two pies this week; one apple and one pumpkin.

I am creating...Going to try to sketch something this week.

I am hearing... Hayley and her friend Olivia discussing homework.

Around the house... The downstairs is pretty clean and organized( for now).

One of my favorite things...is to pray the Rosary!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...Keep the house tidy, pay bills, clean the back bedroom ( an ongoing project that never seems to get done), run errands, take Hannah trick-or-treating.

                For Today...

Outside my Window...It is raining. The cool, crispness of  Autumn is being savored.

I am thinking..  How wonderful it is to park our cars in the garage for a change. A clean garage= a happy home at least for today.

From the learning rooms... Both of my girls are home sick, and making up their homework.

I am thankful for...  My family.

From the kitchen... A fresh pot of homemade chicken stock is simmering on the stove. For dinner, I plan to serve the girls and hubby; bowls of nourishing chicken noodle soup.

I am wearing...not my finest, for I cleaned the garage today.

I am reading...Laura Ingalls Wilder's the Long Winter. Call me juvenile but I have done this annually since I was old enough to read. I simply love reading about the pioneer days!!!

I am hoping...that my girls will get better soon.

I am creating...a new look for our newly finished basement.

I am hearing... rain falling and cars going by.

Around the house...I am doing laundry, tidying up the kitchen, refreshing all or our bedding, caring for sick girls.

One of my favorite things...is to visit Amish country. Something I did with a friend on Saturday. I just love seeing the Amish men and women in their simple attire driving their buggies to and from town. I admired them from a distance living  a much simpler existence then you or I.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week... Errands, declutter several rooms, pay bills, general cleaning, make some business calls, and do something fun with the kids at the end of the week; like visit the pumpkin patch.
